As a highly selective private members club in London, Metanoia places particular emphasis on intellectual openness rather than conventional credentials alone. Shortlisted candidates are invited to an informal conversation with a founding member before a final decision is made, and successful candidates are notified personally.
The club does not operate a conventional waiting list; candidates whose profiles are strong but whose domain is currently well-represented are held in active consideration until the right composition need arises.
Membership is open to individuals who have achieved genuine distinction within one of the twelve domains — not necessarily the most prominent or the most decorated, but those whose engagement with their field has been serious, sustained, and reflective.

Metanoia Club is for individuals across all twelve domains who are genuinely curious about how people in other fields see the world, who believe their thinking is enriched by perspectives different from their own, and who value depth of conversation over breadth of contacts.
It is for those who are as interested in good questions as in quick answers, who enjoy intellectual exploration without needing immediate practical payoff, and who appreciate the rare opportunity to think alongside people from entirely unfamiliar domains.
Metanoia is not designed for those seeking traditional networking or transactional relationships, for those more interested in being seen than in learning, for those who expect every conversation to produce immediate ROI, or for those with little genuine curiosity about perspectives different from their own.
Members are expected to attend a minimum of three gatherings per year; those unable to make a consistent commitment to this are asked to defer their membership until they can.
What members receive:

- Curated pre-reading materials prepared specifically for each dialogue theme, distributed in advance of each gathering
- A written summary of key insights from each gathering — attributed to domains rather than individuals, in keeping with Chatham House Rules — shared exclusively with members

- Administrative support from the club team for all logistics, invitations, and materials
- Membership in a permanent community of distinguished individuals across twelve domains, with the relationships and ongoing connections this makes possible
Member obligations to the club: Members commit to attending at least three gatherings per year, preparing thoughtfully for each theme using the materials provided, and honouring absolutely the confidentiality of everything shared within the room. These are not bureaucratic requirements — they are the conditions on which the quality of every gathering depends, and on which every other member’s experience rests.
